This unique retreat on the Greek Island of Santorini, is an opportunity for you to explore your psyche (Greek word for ‘soul’) in a week of therapeutic writing and psychodrama.

Laoura Gini will join us early mornings and late after- noons for Yin yoga, Breath work, and Sound Healing. These extra daily sessions will serve to deepen and enrich each participant’s experience across the week.

We will work with the beauty, energetic power and ancient history of Santorini, and engage in field trips to different parts of the island, as a way into personal and creative material. On these excursions, therapeutic writing activities will occur in- situ and material will evolve from participants’ relationship to the environs and beyond.

Daily Program:

Sunrise Yin Yoga Session & Breath – work meditation.

Warming up to the day with Laoura on the sea view terrace, followed by a hearty breakfast.

10am–1pm Writing Session

These three hours are devoted to therapeutic writing activities facilitated by Julie and they include solo, pair and group work.

1pm–3pm Downtime

Participants are free to rest, swim, walk, eat or do

whatever feels right.

3pm–5.30pm Psychodrama Session

Facilitated by Julie at our venue. Themes, scenes, stories, images and moments emerging from the Writing Session will be dramatized in action to expand, clarify, create, express and so much more. Participants always have a choice in any personal creative action work, which will involve pair, small group and whole group activity.

6pm–730pm Sound Healing Session Conducted by Laoura, accompanied by sunset and the

sound of the sea, below our private terrace.

8pm Dinner

At the Cave of Nikolas, a popular seaside taverna at Akrotiri.

The Write On & Tune In Retreat is a seven-night accommodation package, with breakfast and dinner included. Lunch can be purchased at the Hotel’s public terrace. All airport and excursion transfers, and entry fees on field trips are included.

Participants arrive on Santorini on Saturday 5th October and check into Hotel Akrotiri after 3pm. A Welcome Dinner commences at the Cave of Nikolas at 8pm.

We commence our program on Sunday 6th October and finish on Friday 11th with ceremony Sound Healing Session after dinner on the beach. Check out is 11am on Saturday 12th October.

Wednesday 9th October is a Free Day for participants to explore Santorini at their leisure. Dinner is not included on this day. We can advise on .

Facilitators :

JULIE LACY

Julie is a highly experienced psychodrama psychotherapist in private practise. She’s based in London and works online. She’s

also an educator with an international career spanning clinical work, lecturing, training & facilitation, and the arts.

Drawing on her early performance arts background, including being the founding artistic director of the original London Playback Theatre Company, she’s a creative practitioner who works holistically. She has extensive experience in trauma treatment, and works with a trauma informed bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach.

She utilises arts therapies, mindfulness & compassion, positive psychology, CBT, and depth psychology with a Jungian focus in her practice. She also brings transpersonal awareness into her work and is experienced in providing opportunity for her clients to clear trans generational and ancestral legacies. Work settings have included prisons, hospitals, schools, universities, theatres, television, and government & non-government agencies in the arts and health sectors.

Julie is also a professional screenwriter with an MA in Creative Writing. Her award-winning feature film screenplay is in the market to be financed in 2024.

She is currently writing her first novel. Julie enjoys bringing her love of writing into therapeutic spaces. She presented her workshop – ‘WriteOn – Therapeutic Writing in Individual Practise’ at the British Psychodrama Conference in 2023.

LAOURA GINI

Pianist, film composer, Sound Healer andTherapist Laoura Gini uses Western and Eastern musical traditions in her healing arts work. She holds a Master’s degree in music education, piano performance and composition from the National Conservatory of Athens.

She has collaborated with many musicians in classical, jazz and ethnic music in concerts and performances all over Europe.

In 1997 she had a transformational wake-up call arriving a severe health problem, which drastically changed the direction of her life. For more that 10 years she travelled to India exploring the integration of subtle forms of vibrations and awareness through sound and yoga of the voice. She is also Yin yoga instructor .

In 2008 in Mexico, seeking a more therapeutic approach to sound, she discovered the Universal Sound through the vibrations of Gongs and the Music of the Spheres. In the U.S she also has studied different Sound Therapy modalities, with Jonathan Goldman ”Healing Sounds” and with with John Beaulieu ”Biosonic Tuning Forks Frequencies”.

In Nepal, she studied Tibetan Singing Bowls and then incorporated them into the palette of her therapeutic sound sessions with individuals and groups.

Laoura is also a certified massage therapist in Thai massage, Shiatsu, Ayurveda medicine & Pranic Healing .
